MCSD raid Standing Rock Camp Nov 26th 2016
Camp Raid
On 11/27/16 at 11:15 am MT, Protectors observed riot officers moving in toward a group of people camping out near Highway 1806 near the town of Cannon Ball, N.D. Officers were in riot gear, some were armed and they arrived with soldiers driving trucks and military Humvees. They also deployed helicopters and an airplane that monitored them from above. The police operation came the day after the Morton County Sheriff's Department asked protesters to leave the land, which is in the path of the Dakota Access Pipeline under construction.
The Federal Aviation Administration began restricting flights over the area on Tuesday Oct 25th afternoon and will continue to do so until Nov. 5, according to the FAA website, which cites "hazards" in the area. This resulted in several activist drones being shot down by law enforcement.
This has since been taken down from here, [ http://tfr.faa.gov/save_pages/detail_6_7258.html ] and is conveniently not on the archives either.
Update 2026
We were able to get a screenshot of this flight restriction from archives.org

Law enforcement also took advantage of the opportunity to test some of the new toys homeland security has been passing out over the last few years. In a video streamed by one of the protesters, Dallas Goldtooth, the LRAD sound cannon can be heard going off, but The Resistance held their ground in true warrior fashion "Move to the south," a man on a loudspeaker said from the direction of the police line, to which someone in the group of protesters responded with a shouted FUCK YOU.

Police also took a shot with a live round at an unarmed youth riding a horse attempting to escape the mass arrest taking place in the dismantling of the camp
Later that day Agent Provocateur Kyle J Thompson attempted to infiltrate the camp disguised as part of The Resistance. A Standing Rock Sioux tribal member says he saw the man driving down Highway 1806 toward the main resistance camp with an AR-15 rifle on the passenger side of his truck. Protectors chased down his truck and then pursued him on foot in efforts to disarm him. His response was to threaten Protectors with his weapon while attempting to flee.

Riverside Chemical Weapons Attack
Just a few days later on Wed Nov 2nd Police in riot gear terrorized a prayer ceremony on the banks of the Cantapeta Creek just north of the Standing Rock Sioux Indian Reservation
Riot officers shot Protectors with rubber bullets and used pepper spray on them in the river.
"There was absolutely no provocation of any kind," said film director Josh Fox, who was also on scene. "The police pepper sprayed people sitting in the water."
"I was shot in point blank range," said Schrode, who says she is shaken but physically will recover. "Another water protector was also shot at twice at point blank range, but the rubber bullet hit the water, and not him."
11/6/16
Dozens of Protectors were tear gassed attempting to reclaim a hill in the construction zone.
11/11/16
Law Enforcement raids vehicles traveling anywhere near the encampments.
11/12/16
DAPL employees were seen on live stream from Kevin Gilbertt driving trucks through protester lines, and firing guns off into the air as they drove trucks around the blockades.
And then the real chemical warfare begins....

Turning the Water into a Weapon of Terror
Law enforcement continues to trample on the human rights of those standing against the Dakota Access Pipeline
At roughly 7:00 pm, police began attacking a peaceful demonstration that had formed just north of the main camp on Highway 1806. water protectors went to the bridge to remove the burnt vehicles law enforcement have been using as a barricade. The act was one of peace but was met with a vicious response from the law enforcement in the area. Law enforcement answered this with the normal mix of tear gas, bean bag rounds, and mace, but also included a new weapon.
Morton County Sheriffโs Department released this statement via their facebook page claiming there is a โriotโ in Standing Rock and protesters are trying to breach the barricade to go north on Highway 1806. The post also claims that protesters have started a dozen fires by the bridge. Both of these accusations are completely false. Livestream videos have shown that law enforcementโs tear gas canisters have been starting the fires and water protectors have been putting the fires out, despite law enforcement having a water cannon on the scene.
The cold weather has been a major concern for those staying in the area to stand against the pipeline. The temperatures are enough to kill a man alone, getting these water protectors drenching wet makes the situation that much more dangerous.

It should be noted that the majority of the people that are being sprayed down with water are sleeping outside in the camps.
During the attack, a projectile fired by law enforcement started a small fire, but the person in control of the water cannon ignored the fire. Those being attacked by law enforcement ended up putting the fire out.
Law enforcement began firing tear gas at an alarming rate. On Gilberttโs livestream, huge clouds of tear gas could be seen covering the area.
Water protectors standing on the bridge took the bulk of the tear gas. People are not able to clear out of the bridge area in time to get away from the tear gas without trampling each other, so they are forced to stand and take it.
One woman who spoke on the livestream said that the tear gas was so thick that it made her vomit and pee her pants. The woman was trying to take blankets to those who were sprayed with the water cannons when the crowd was bombarded with tear gas.
Law enforcement also used a Long Range Acoustic Device, LRAD, against the crowd. The LRAD confuses those targeted by it, which makes the situation that much more dangerous.
Imagine being stuck in tear gas, while soaking wet in the freezing cold, as rubber bullets are flying past you; then a device is used that is intended to disorient people. This creates a very dangerous situation.
Mainstream media is still nowhere to be found as these clear violations of human rights continue to happen. Despite mainstream mediaโs lack of coverage, over 50,000 people were watching Gilberttโs livestream, meaning that the word is still getting out
By midnight, at least 160 people reported suffering injuries, and medics on scene confirmed a 13-year-old girl had been shot in the face, according to Unicorn Riot, which did not say whether the shot was live ammunition or a rubber bullet.
A statement released by the head medic of the Oceti Sakowin camp shortly before midnight said 167 people, including three elders, had suffered injuries, and that seven people had to be hospitalized. Emergency medics performed CPR on an elder who went into cardiac arrest, and though they were able to resuscitate him at the scene, he remains in critical condition. Further, as the medic noted, police intentionally targeted the water protectorsโ heads and legs during the attack.

Emergency medics from both the Standing Rock Sioux and Cheyenne River Sioux Tribes attended to the injured, wet, and freezing water protectors at the Oceti Sakowin Camp and in the gymnasium, with hundreds suffering hypothermia, blunt trauma and open wounds from nonlethal projectiles, and contamination from CS gas โ tear gas โ deemed illegal under international law during war, but acceptable for use by police.
According to a joint statement by Indigenous Environmental Network, Honor the Earth, and Sacred Stone Camp on the incident:
โHundreds of water protectors were injured at the Standing Rock encampments when law enforcement blasted them with water cannons in freezing temperatures Sunday evening. The attacks came as water protectors used a semi-truck to remove burnt military vehicles that police had chained to concrete barriers weeks ago, blocking traffic on Highway 1806. Water protectorsโ efforts to clear the road and improve access to the camp for emergency services were met with tear gas, an LRAD (Long Range Acoustic Device), stinger grenades, rubber bullets, and indiscriminate use of a water cannon with an air temperature of 26 degrees Fahrenheit. Some flares shot by law enforcement started grass fires which were ignored by the water cannons and had to be extinguished by water protectors. Law enforcement also shot down three media drones and targeted journalists with less lethal rounds.
National Lawyers Guild legal observers on the frontlines have confirmed that multiple people were unconscious and bleeding after being shot in the head with rubber bullets.
Due to the sheer number of serious injuries, the local Cannon Ball community graciously opened its school gymnasium as a makeshift emergency medical facility.
Around 400 people were kettled โ encircled by police from both sides โ on the Backwater Bridge, as police seemed to use every nonlethal weapon at their disposal against the peaceful water protectors.

They are going to try to crush this movement before that time comes. This is our moment, victory is with in reach. We must unite as one. Stand in defense of our brothers, our sisters, our elders, our children and OUR LAND. We are many they are few. This is our right. Together we will see this black snake bled dry.
